Location: Seattle Washington

They are expected to perform all appropriate actions, from the initial detec! tion/referral through to final resolution, in close coordination with the overall delinquency resolution process. As the volume of this work is highly variable, this individual may be expected to take on additional tasks as appropriate.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS :
Ensure all assigned delinquent loans are being processed efficiently and accurately so that the loan reaches an appropriate and timely resolution. Toward that end, the Default Processing Specialist is expected to:

Directly monitor loans in foreclosure, using relevant tools and through regular contact with retained counsel/ trustees. Take action as necessary to move loans through the process and escalate issues to Team Leads or Default Management, as appropriate. To do this, it is expected that each processor will use and maintain a tracking mechanism.

Ensure all necessary information is provided to retained counsel/trustees for them to take action.

Serve as a primary point of! contact for foreclosure related correspondence and inquiries,! ensuring responses in a timely manner.

Ensure all appropriate status reporting/documentation is accurate and up to date to facilitate downstream processing and review.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS :
Aid in providing investor/insurer with foreclosure status information on accounts, both during month-end reporting and at other times, as appropriate.

Aid in complying with appropriate investor/insurer servicing requirements.

Respond to requests of other departments in a timely manner.

Develop and maintain a basic understanding of the overall delinquency resolution process, including all loss mitigation options and be able to clearly communicate same to customers or refer to proper department, when appropriate.

Occasionally assume additional duties as assigned including back-up phone coverage and other assistance to other team members.

QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduate or equivalent.

Good at! tention to detail.

Possess general good judgment.

Accepts responsibility, willing to assume additional duties/projects as they arise.

Proven ability and desire to work with people of all personality types, both employees and customers, in a cooperative, courteous, professional and friendly spirit, maintaining emotional control at all times.

Able to handle all customers in a firm, but fair and consistent manner.

Learn quickly, not be afraid to ask questions and take instruction constructively.

Expects and accepts regular change.

Able to work within tight deadlines and under extreme pressure.

Correctly handle sensitive and confidential information.

Excellent communication skills, including written, oral and in person.

At least some basic experience using: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and the internet.

Regular and punctual attendance required.

Good vision and he! aring (corrected if necessary), able to sit for long hours and manual d! exterity to include filing, reaching and bending.

Preferred candidates may also have :
At least two (2) years of completed college coursework or relevant work experience in the real estate, lending, foreclosure and/or bankruptcy industries.

Demonstrated experience with mortgage servicing. These candidates will be given particular priority, especially if the experience involves use of LPS/MSP software.

Experience working with VA/HUD, FHLMC/FNMA, and private investor/insurer requirements.

Proven experience as a self-starter, dependable and accurate in completing work tasks/responsibilities with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

The ability to speak additional languages beyond English; with particular priority given to Spanish-speakers.

A paralegal certification.
