Moz is looking for a versatile and talented SDET who has the the unique combination of great software development skills and a passion for testing software systems and generally making things better.
About t! he Position
As an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), you will contribute your expertise in testing software systems as part of a collaborative, Agile development team to help Moz make better quality products. You will run automated testing of both new and existing production software, run performance, scalability, and load tests on systems, and consult with feature developers on integration testing. We need your ability to architect and code long-lived and flexible test framework solutions, and your judgment to assess project risk, find bug colonies, and tackle the hard stuff first. You can tackle multiple levels of detail from lines of code to system components to whole systems, and have experience working in the SaaS/tiered web services arena.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar technical field (or a great reason why you don’t have one).
5+ years of experience a! s an SDET, developer, or QA Engineer.
5+ years experi! ence in object oriented programming. Python, Ruby, Node, and/or Coffeescript desired; Java, C++ and other OO language experience acceptable.
Understanding of HTTP and other common Internet networking protocols such as TCP, UDP, IP, and SSL.
Comfort and familiarity with common data structures, algorithms and collections.
Familiarity with a variety of testing methodologies and approaches, including manual, exploratory, automated, performance/load/scalability, and integration testing.
Experience designing and implementing automated test frameworks.
Experience in the following areas are a plus:
Distributed and tiered software services architectures.
Linux, and using open source tools (Git/GitHub, Travis, Jenkins) are a plus.
Data stores and job queuing mechanisms such as MongoDB, AWS/EC2/S3, Hadoop, Redis, Resque, NSQ.
Agile processes and methodologies.
