:

As a member of a work team, the incumbent develops and maintains a varie! ty of business intelligence solutions required for operational, managerial, and strategic reporting across multiple systems.

Duties include the development of; queries, reports, data integration tasks, a data warehouse, data marts, and various supporting applications using a combination of Microsoft technologies.

Work requires knowledge and understanding of modern database design, experience using Structured Query Language (SQL) to extract data, the ability to work in teams, and excellent customer service skills.

Essential Duties

:

Partners with internal clients/work team to determine business requirements; translates data into technical specifications to plan and prepare for a final product.

Analyzes, exports, transforms, and loads data from multiple and various sources types (e.g. databases, Excel spreadsheets, flat files, etc.) and incorporates into a common data repository to support operational reporting needs.

Designs, builds, and produces reports via MS SQL Reportin! g Services.

Identifies and resolves a wide array of data related or system issues using troubleshooting methodologies.

Develops and maintains technical documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Develops custom applications using MS Access or Microsoft .NET as a front-end tool, in support of data warehousing and other financial functions of the organization.

Administers a Microsoft SQL Server database to

assist in protecting and managing the organization’s data.

Automates tasks, creates indexes and views, performs backups and recovery, replicates transactions, tunes performance, monitors server activity, imports and exports data, and performs other key tasks.

Participates with central IT staff (FHS/CHI) in production system upgrades and technical changes; ensures the integrity and availability of the business intelligence infrastructure.

Performs related duties as required.

! Qualifications

Education/ Work Experience:
Associate’s degree in a computer science-related field, and two years of experience using SQL and relational databases required.

Advanced Microsoft Excel and Access and strong system skills required.

An equivalent combination of additional qualifying work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.

License/Certification:
Valid WA State Driver's License.

Job Knowledge and Skills:
General knowledge of statistical concepts and of effective methodologies for statistical computer modeling.

Knowledge and ability to use SQL Integration Services and Microsoft .NET framework and/or MS Access effectively for application development.

General knowledge of the content and application of regulatory requirements applicable to matters within assigned scope of authority.

Knowledge of techniques for abstracting and analyzing data! that is resident on multiple systems.

Knowledge of the tools,! techniques and accepted practice relating to project management.

Knowledge of the principles, standards, processes, tools and accepted practices of the quality improvement field.

Knowledge of modern enterprise application development methodologies.

Knowledge of the function and application of relational databases.

Knowledge of, or ability to learn, business practices and internal policies, procedures, processes and flow of data/work applicable to the assigned work unit.

Ability to grasp business data, processes and procedures to develop effective automated solutions.

A passion to constantly learn and apply new technologies and methodologies found in the industry as it relates to business intelligence.

Ability to create accurate documentation that can be understood by technical and non-technical staff.
