They value diversity, are inclusive and are committed to a global mindset Position Summary The SOC Malware Researcher provides real-time Malware attacks investigation once an online fraud attacks are initiated against F5 clients. Your job will be to focus on understanding Malware behavior and investigating its method of operation while trying to gain control on the attacker39s CC (Command Control).
The SOC Malware researcher will take active part in the SOC day to day activities, assisting the analysts in investigating new alerts received from clients regarding Malware attacks, then generating a full Malware analysis report that would be presented to F5 customers or would be published directly to the media. After understanding the method of the attack the Malware researcher will cooperate with the development team advising how to better detect such attack in the future and upgrade the company39s products. You will provide critical security services to major corporate enterprises globally. Primary Responsibilities First major responsibility (85 of time)- Investigation of new worldwide Malware and providing F5 clients with relevant information- Analysis of various types of malware, including PC, Mac and mobile malware- Analysis of real time Malware attacks- Generating Malware investigation reports to F5 customersSecond major responsibility (15 of time)- Initial investigation of Malware related alerts (JavaScripts, .php etc.) - supporting SOC analysts initial investigation- Working closely with the company marketing team for publishing threat research reportsOther responsibilities- Responsible for upholding F539s Business Code of Ethics and for promptly reporting violations of the Cod! e or other company policies.- Performs other related duties and projects as assigned. Note The percentages of time noted above are current estimates and may change at any time depending on the business needs of the company. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Hands on technical experience with and very knowledgeable of security operations, scripts reading and understanding, basic knowledge in different languages JS, PHP, HTML, HTML 5- Thorough knowledge of software39s such as WireShark, VMware, Burp Suite and more- Ability to work with moderate supervision- Proven track record in a team environment- Analytical thinker with strong attention to detail- Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently, including technical concepts and terminology.
Fluency in additional languages is desirable.- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows OS QUALIFICATIONS - Analysis of various types of malware, including mobile malware- Investigation of customer defects and online ! fraud in real-time- Development of solutions for dealing with malware- ! Investigation of attacks in real time- Prior experience on Penetration Testing- Prior experience on Reverse Engineering (possible only basic experience)- Experience in - Malware Research - an advantage- Prior experience in Information Security a HUGE advantage- Computer Science andor graduate degree a big advantage- Ability to speak and write English fluently PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT - Duties are performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table. Duties require the ability to utilize a computer, communicate over the telephone and read printed material.- Working in an environment where work hours are scheduled shifts but your position is a full time position. This role may be required to work outside of core business hours including early morning, late evening, overnight, weekends, and holidays.
