JOB SUMMARY
The Treasury Manager will provide leadership, oversight and execution of treasury functions which include responsibility for liquidity management, cash management, debt and short-term investments, cash forecasting, variance analysis, Treasury Management System implementations, banking systems and banking relationships management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversees personnel responsible for the daily management of the cash flow, maintenance of controls and documentation, and timely month end close reporting.
Coordinates teams to minimize forecast variances and streamline cash flow reporting. Produces cash flow forecast reports summarizing US and Canada cash activities. Identifies cash needs for international subsidiaries and maximizes cash flow back to the U.S.
Reviews and approves electronic funds transfers.
Oversees the execution of spot and forward trading for payables as needed.
Approves users on banking systems and internal treasury systems. Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance and/or training to co-workers.
Recommends cash management strategies to improve working capital and efficiency, and reduce bank fees. Coordinates with internal departments and banks to implement new banking services and products to meet these objectives.
Close collaboration with Shared Service Centers in different time-zones.
Streamlines and automates repetitive tasks through use of Treasury Workstation and enhancement of software and processes as directed by Treasury management.
Develops, enhances and monitors Company’s cash for the US and Canada, collection, policies and procedures and make recommendations to enhance cash flow.
Provides back-up and leadership to different functions.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area. Approves subordinate's recommendations for staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination. Effectively recommends same for direct reports to next level management for review and approval. Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor. Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff. Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues. Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management and/or public groups. Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, top management, and client groups to take desired action. Ability to effectively respond to complex inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, supervisor, and/or management.
FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE
Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate complex figures. Ability to forecast and prepare budgets. Conducts financial/business analysis including the preparation of reports. Demonstrated expertise designing, changing and managing a cash management program. Conduct financial/business analysis including the preparation of reports. Requires a strong understanding of the treasury finance discipline and will need to gain a full understanding of the products offered by banks and other financial institutions.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations. Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions for a growing matrix-based environment. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company.
OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES
Advance skills with Microsoft Office. Experience with treasury workstation software a plus. Team player and a self-starter with the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently and with little supervision. Understand economic indicators/events, evaluate impact on currencies, communicate and train others.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
Decisions made with in-depth understanding and interpretation of procedures, company policies and business practices to achieve general results. Responsible for setting department deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause long-term impact to co-workers, supervisor, department and/or line of business.
