Rently is seeking an experienced Payroll and Benefits Administrator to join our Camarillo, CA office. This role will be responsible for managing payroll processes, encompassing compensation, time tracking, leave, and deductions. Ensuring accurate tax handling, benefits processing, and deductions is paramount. The position also encompasses benefits management, compliance, and acting as a liaison with benefit service providers and regulatory agencies, while maintaining confidentiality and fostering strong team relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Enter, maintain, and process payroll details: compensation, time worked, leave, and deductions.
  • Ensure precise tax, benefit, and deduction processing accuracy in payroll.
  • Issue checks or direct deposits for payroll corrections or final discharges.
  • Manage federal and state payroll tax deposits and processing and compliance.
  • Verify benefits accuracy in HRIS for vendor eligibility.
  • Conduct quality checks on benefits, assisting with claims and changes.
  • Facilitate open enrollment, distribute materials, manage benefits enrollment, status changes, and benefit plan compliance including audits and ERISA.
  • Act as primary liaison with benefit plan service providers, consultants and regulatory agencies.
  • Address employee and managerial benefits inquiries.
  • Maintain confidential employee payroll records, meet deadlines, and drive system enhancements.
  • Monitor and reconcile payroll accounts, including general ledger entries, tax liabilities, and benefit contributions, while fostering strong team and vendor relationships.
  • Provide allocation reports on an ongoing basis to necessary entities.
  • Maintain a regular in-office presence within Rently's Camarillo, CA office.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 8+ years experience in US payroll and benefit plan administration.
  • Experience with HRIS and ERP software systems including Paylocity and NetSuite
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and data processing, with a preference for operational process improvement experience.
  • Capacity to handle confidential data discreetly, accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Adaptable, team-focused work style with a collaborative approach.
  • Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working under pressure in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Effective communicator for collaboration across departments and stakeholders.
  • Versatility as both a team player and independent worker.
  • Global payroll experience preferred, but not required.
For applicants located in California, the salary range for this full-time role is expected to be $100,000-110,000 per year. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package. Please note Rently reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on the candidate's experience and qualifications, and that the expected salary range may be different for candidates located outside of California.
