Senior CNC Programmer

- Using Esprit and SmartCAM programming software, develop CNC code for wide range of CNC lathes and CNC Mills as well as associated tooling and fixtures based on engineering drawings,3D models and/or written specifications. Specify feeds, speeds, and tool paths.
- Identify and implement improvement opportunities for programs, tooling and set-ups of CNC equipment on a continuous basis. Maintain procedures for CNC programs and programming software.
- Support efforts of machine operators and machinists in the daily operation of the shop.
- Support Continuous Improvement efforts by applying lean manufacturing methodology to the machining environment.
- Assist Engineering & Operations in the bid & proposal process as required.
- Responsible for programming, editing, modifying and maintaining files on all parts manufactured on CNC equipment.
- Analyze drawings, sketches and 3D models to determine dimension and configuration of cutter paths.
- Provide machine shop support during the program prove out process of new N/C programs and daily support for problem solving and process improvements.
- Must be familiar with all types of CNC machines and cutting tools.
- Experience with CAD/CAM systems with the ability to create geometry, run tool paths and generate CNC programs through post processors for various CNC machines is essential.
- Experience with Esprit and SmartCAM programming software is REQUIRED
- Familiarity with CAD packages such as CATIA and Solid Works is a plus
- 2 Year Technical Degree in CNC Programming with 5 years of relevant experience or a minimum of 10 years’ experience programming in a multi-axis environment.
- Good verbal & written communication skills.
- Can proficiently use inspection equipment associated with machining.
- Familiarity/experience with Model Based Design is a plus.
- Experience with a variety of material types, especially stainless steel
- Thorough understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing standards is required.
- Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
- Must have strong desire and willingness to learn and leverage technology.
- This person must be detail oriented, organized and be able to work independently with limited supervision.
- This person must also be able to multi-task, meet deadlines and work well under pressure in a fast paced, high-growth environment.
