PeaceHealth is looking for an outstanding WEB USER EXPERIENCE DESIGNER to join our Web Services team at our brand-new Shared Service Center in Vancouver, WA! The Web User Experience Designer is responsible for leading user interface design processes, resulting in the adoption of system-wide standards. This person will be responsible for the optimization of organization and visual interface of web-based systems to enhance the effectiveness of finding information and enhancing productivity for end-users. This includes production of both structured (database-driven applications) and unstructured (HTML web page) information. Job responsibilities include: Convene and work with various groups and disciplines to understand/improve understanding of their experience with information delivery. Lead information-gathering sessions with customers and incorporate the results into designs through interviews, surveys, etc. to determine requirements. Document and publish standards to be used for the Intranet, Internet, and Extranet environments related to usability and design. Advocate, teach, and promote best practices related to usability concepts. Analyze and understand complex workflows and processes in order to translate user needs into requirements. Serve as a liaison between developers and customers to ensure that user interface and design requirements are implemented appropriately. Design and specify system architectures for successful user experience. Perform user research and task analysis. Develop test plans, conduct the tests, analyze the results, and report results to key stakeholders. Construct rapid prototypes, mockups, and interaction requirements specifications, using design tools such as wireframes, where appropriate. Coordinate prototype reviews. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve tools and provide best practices for visual design and user interfaces from both specific application and its integration with the overall customer service experience. Set-up Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) structure and 'own' and maintain CSSs to ensure consistency in user experience across multiple browsers. Monitor regulations for accessibility and modify user interface standards as needed for compliance. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree with course work in Information Science, Informatics, or Computer Science. Equivalent education/experience will be considered. Master's degree in a related field is preferred. EXPERIENCE/TRAINING: Minimum of three years experience in information or interaction design, requirements and user scenario development, site navigation, application design, user interface design, and other aspects of user-centered development. Experience producing prototypes leading to the development of rich interactive user experiences. Experience interpreting and translating business specifications/requirements and user requirements into usable interfaces. Experience in gaining active end-user involvement in the specification, design, and implementation phases. Familiarity with usability research, theories, and methodologies (especially user-centered design processes). Knowledge of principles and practice of Information Quality and Information Management. Knowledge of current technologies used for web and mobile user experience development including HTML5, JavaScript, AJAX, and related technologies. Expert level understanding of Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). Knowledge of regulations and standards for Web accessibility and best practices for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and cross-browser compatibility. Knowledge of Agile/SCRUM and traditional development methodologies.
