Experience with web technologies, both client-side (HTML/CSS/Javascript, jQuery) and server-side (J2EE, REST, MySQL). HTML5 Canvas experience is a plus.

Experience with mathematical modeling of biological processes is a plus.

Enthusiastic about creating and enhancing easy-to-use, user-centric visualization software.

Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, and able to work effectively as part of a small, tight-knit team. This is crucial, and a good fit can make up for a lack of some specific technical experience.

Willingness to be involved in all facets of the project: designing, coding, testing, release, documentation, tutorial creation, and user support.

Strong interest in biology. Some background in biology will be helpful, but a strong desire to learn the relevant biology is both sufficient and essential.

A high degree of professional integrity.
