DUTIES:
Location:
This positio! n is located at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System (VAPSHCS) in Seattle,
WA.

Major duties and responsibilities include:
The
incumbent maintains the logistics and supply chain management system by
performing operations that involve planning, coordinating and evaluating the
logistical and supply chain management actions required to support the complex
requirements of a large healthcare facility.

supply chain through analysis and action.

asset planning.

sourcing of commodities.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE

You must have specialized experience directly related to this position, which has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the assigned duties. When answering the questionnaire, remember that your experience and/or education is subject to verification by investigation. You must show this experience in your resume/application, you may be asked to provide specific examples or documentation of experience or response by a practical demonstration of your claimed ability to perform a task.

One (1) full year of specialized experience th! at equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of this position successfully that is equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-13) in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes: managing a facility acquisition program involving coordination of and planning of a number of contracts; maintaining a logistics and supply chain management system; establishing, maintaining and promoting a facility logistics personnel training and professional development program; and providing oversight, stewardship and program management of a logistics operation.

A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employ! ment.

You will be rated on the following Knowledge, Skills, Ab! ilities and Other characteristics as part of the assessment questionnaire for this position (Narrative Responses are Not Required):

Knowledge of all facets of logistics and acquisition management.

Knowledge of agency program planning, funding and management information systems.

·

Ability to coordinate and evaluate forecast planning and budget execution for acquisitions and logistics.

Knowledge of logistics performance measurement/management activities.

Ability to establish, maintain and promote facility logistics personnel training and professional development programs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The incumbent is required to participate on environment of care rounds, Facility Internal Reviews (FIR), Network External Reviews (NER) and external auditor site visits.

These reviews include a review of work areas including warehouse, supply areas that re! quire personal protective equipment such as OR and lab, and equipment disposition areas that involve removal of hazardous waste.

This may require long periods of standing, walking and/or maneuvering around moving or otherwise hazardous equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks and cart washers.

Between periods of inspection, the incumbent is required to maintain a safe environment through continuous review of work areas and work practices.

As members of Construction IPTs and leaders of construction activation teams, the incumbent will often be required to participate in construction site visits which may involve long periods of standing, walking, over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces and may require the use of protective clothing.

The incumbent will also be required to participate in or conduct intensive negotiations for 4 hours or longer without rest periods.

This may occur in conjunction with the Contracting Officer for contrac! t negotiations or in budget negotiation meetings.
