Our School of Drama (SoD) has an outstanding opportunity for a part-time, 75%, Constituent Relations Officer(Development/Fund Raising Events Coordinator ) . The person in this role will:

  • Act as board liaison for the SoD Advisory Board: maintain documents, track participation, communicate with board members, assist with board events and volunteer opportunities.
  • Support CRO in planning small to medium-sized events each year. Events to include opening nights at theatres, annual Showcase for graduating MFA acting students, annual fundraising event for donors and alums, quarterly dinners at UW Club, board meetings, and a lecture series.
  • Pull mailing lists and donor in! formation from ADVANCE database.
  • Pull patron and tick! et sales information from TESSITURA ticketing system.
  • Work closely with Arts Ticketing Office to identify and resolve any issues.
  • Process gift donations to the School of Drama, completing all forms and thank you letters.
  • Process letters to donors for scholarships and student support.
  • Maintain donor lists and files.
  • Work with vendors to provide necessary services.
  • Purchase and reconcile purchases with University of Washington procurement card.
  • Update content on social media sites and on SoD web sites.
  • Gather and analyze data from Google analytics on web site.
  • Produce quarterly e-newsletter and e-blasts as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to UW, A&S, and SoD messaging, branding, and communication styles.
  • Update information in all SoD show programs for each production, working closely with School of Drama Production Office. Have programs printed on time for each show.
  • Communicat! e via email in a professional manner with constituents of the SoD, including donors, alumni, guests, faculty, staff, and students.
  • Work with the stewardship team to track and monitor student calling and annual giving deadlines.
  • Attend meetings as required, which will include SoD staff meetings, A&S advancement meetings, and ArtsUW meetings.
  • Assist at events as needed. May include some evenings.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Two years of experience in alumni relations, development, public relations, or event planning, demonstrating excellent verbal and written skills, organizational skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team OR Equivalent education/experience.
  • Self-motivated individual with strong initiative.
  • Must be adept at organizational proficiency and project managing, including the ability to prioritize work.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment as well as independent! ly.
  • Must be flexible in a fast-paced setting and able to work under deadline pressure.
  • Must be customer service-minded.
  • Capacity to work professionally with many constituencies (e.g., staff, faculty, students, alumni, friends, vendors, donors, and volunteers.)
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office for the PC.
  • Familiarity with a wide range of software, including Illustrator, In-Design, Photoshop, Acrobat, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Desired:
  • Experience working at the University of Washington or in a higher education environment or other complex organizational structure.
  • Experience working with technology and, in particular, new media tools.
  • Experience working with large databases.
  • Experience working with email distribution systems such as Convio, Mail Chimp, or Constant Contact.
  • Familiarity using content management systems such as Drupal.
Condi! tion of Employment:
Appointment to this position is contingent upon obtaining satisfactory results from a criminal background check

  • Attend School of Drama events on a regular basis. May include some evenings.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation that provides for local and regional travel in an efficient manner and on short-term notice.
  • Ability to lift/move 40 lbs.
