Job Summary: Responsible for delivery and pick-! up of pharmaceutical supplies, orders and information sheets. !
Delivers pharmaceutics and provides a communication link between pharmacy and the patient service areas. Essential Job Functions: 1. Picks-up and delivers items from inpatient pharmacy to nursing units throughout the hospital hourly. In addition, whenever more than 10 envelopes are ready for delivery, another round of deliveries will be made.
2. Picks-up discontinued and discharged meds, including IVs and IVPBs, from nursing units throughout the hospital every hour when the discharge (DC) notifications are in the blue bin. 3. Delivers STAT pharmaceuticals and supplies to all patient care areas ASAP when not on the floor delivering.
IV STATS will be delivered by the technician in the IV room. All other STATS will be delivered by the technician working the D1 shift. 4. Accountable for following the guidelines for attendance, punctuality and overall dependability.
Accountable for effective performance and follow-through of all assigned respo! nsibilities and for completing responsibilities within designated (or agreed upon) timeframes. Completes responsibilities in a manner consistent with organizational policy, goals and values. 5. Responsible for the “Accountabilities†associated with this position in support of the organization.
6. Performs other duties as assigned. Competencies: • STAT or ASAP, delivers pharmaceuticals and supplies to all patient care areas every hour. • Response to requests for immediate deliveries, as requested.
- Troubleshoots when process breaks down and suggests solutions to supervisor. • Carries a pager or radio for communication purposes. License, Certification, Education or Experience: REQUIRED for the position • Current Washington State Pharmacy Assistant certification • Organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks • Accuracy and reliability skills DESIRED for the position: • High School graduate or equivalent • Hospi! tal experience
