Gas Lamp Design is looking for a Bookkeeper to maintain our financial records and handle all types of banking transactions. Bookkeeper responsibilities include processing financial transactions, reconciling bank statements and calculating daily expenses and payments. Ultimately, you will provide us with accurate financial information that will help ensure we are compliant with all banking regulations. The ideal candidate would have experience in Quickbooks, Houzz Pro, and various state sales tax regulations. We would love a candidate who has worked with an interior design firm in the past.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of tasks in connection with the bookkeeping system to include reconciling bank statements, calculating daily expenses and payments, and entering data
  • Process financial transactions including A/R, P/A, A/R, and P/A payments and check runs
  • Reconcile payroll and benefits statements and calculate their amounts and profit margins
  • Enter data into accounting software programs as well as maintain records of transactions into general ledger
  • Ensure all financial transactions are accounted for accurately and thoroughly
  • Report any suspicious transactions to management for investigation
  • Maintain updated records of financial status and procedures, as well as keep records of transactions in accordance with government regulations and guidelines
  • Comply with established accounting policies and procedures
  • Help maintain a safe working environment by complying with security procedures and following the company’s safety policies and procedures

Skills

  • Proven work experience as a bookkeeper or similar role
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping principles and computer software (e.g. QuickBooks and Houzz Pro)
  • Proven ability to calculate figures including profit margins, sales percentages, etc.
  • Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks)

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
