Under direct supervision, the Intern performs professional auditing of the Agencyâs programs and operations; reviews Agency business processes and identifies opportunities to improve efficiency, internal control, and ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws and Agency policies and procedures. Un! dergraduate students with interest in auditing, business admin! istration or program evaluation are strongly encouraged to apply.
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of professional audit standards and audit techniques.
- Knowledge of risk assessment, benchmarking, program evaluations and other comparisons to determine areas most likely to benefit from auditing procedures
- Knowledge of audit planning and audit program development, including performance of research to locate and summarize laws and regulations to determine whether programs are in compliance.
- Knowledge of accounting and auditing theory, principles, and practices including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles Generally Accepted Auditing Standards and Government Auditing Standards
- Knowledge of Enterprise Reporting Programs, database and spreadsheet software.
- Project management techniques and principles.
- Experience with report preparation and presentation.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Of! fice Applications â" Word, Excel, and Power Point
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must be a current college students in good academic standing, enrolled in an accredited four year university offering a baccalaureate or graduate degree program. Must have and maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 grading scale or 3.5 on a 5.0 grading scale. Students must maintain the required GPA throughout the duration of their employment/internship. Must provide a current official transcript at the time of hire.
Note: This is a temporary assignment.
Weekly Hours: Minimum 22 and Maximum 40, Weekday Business Hours. Work could include some field work. Hours are flexible to meet the needs of the student.
