The EC2 Customer Experience Team is looking for passionate, experienced, innovative engineers to join us in identifying opportunities to improve the performance, cost, and reliability of EC2 for our customers. We are looking for a strong systems engineer to solve a challenging set of problems in space packed full of opportunities. As a member of EC2 team you will build systems and automation to provision, monitor, secure, deploy a worldwide fleet of servers that form the core of EC2. You will be constantly exposed to emergent technologies. Every day you will need to find innovative solutions for tough problems. Sound like fun? Join us!
You will be a great fit if you have an excell! ent working knowledge of networking, OS architecture, security! , and advanced linux troubleshooting. You will also need a strong ability to program to solve problems and create automation in shell, Perl , PHP, Python, Ruby or other scripting languages.
Basic Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in computer science/electrical/computer engineering as well as a minimum of 5 years of work experience is required.
Excellent written communication and verbal agility are strong assets
Strong customer focus
Ability to juggle many tasks and projects in a fast-moving environment
Self starter who is excited about technology.
Must have demonstrated proficiency in one or more of these areas: Networking (DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP)
Programming /scripting (Perl, Ruby, PHP, Python, Java)
Linux internals
OS architecture
IT Security
Databases (MySQL, Maria, Mongo, Couch)
Linux systems administration
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with server provisioning
Experience with systems ! integration
Experience in network administration, security engineering and performance tuning.
Experience with Virtualization.
Experience debugging and troubleshooting code.
Strong desire to build, sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
Demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast paced environment.
