Position Details
The primary function of this position is to drive a tractor trailer for the purpose of delivering and unloading various products (dough, sauce, cheese, boxes, meats, etc.) while providing excellent customer service. It is further required that above function be completed in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Position Duties
1. Perform all pre-trip responsibilities including:
- Reviewing driver manifest
- Counting items and checking customer invoices of products that have been loaded
- Moving tractors to the loading dock to attach the pre-loade! d trailers
- Completing required trailer temperature checks
- Performing pre-trip safety check inspections of trucks and trailers according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
3. Visually survey customerâs site during the approach to determine if there are any hazards.
4. Unload products from the trailer with a hand truck or by hand and place items in designated customer storage areas.
5. Verify delivery of correct items from the invoice and collect money (checks) where required.
6. On occasion, drive backhauls which requires picking up product from various vendors and return to warehouse for receiving while staying within DOT Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.
7. Attend all required company meetings and adhere to all safety practices and company! policies.
8. Perform all post-trip responsibilities includ! ing:
- Unloading damaged goods and customer returns and completing necessary paperwork
- Performing safety checks on the truck and trailer
- Completing DOT logs (electronic as required)
- Completing company vehicle maintenance reports (DVIR)
1. Must possess a valid Class A CDL with appropriate endorsements
2. Must be 23 years or older
3. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
4. Must be willing to submit to a criminal background check and/or Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
5. Must have proof of at least 2 years verifiable experience OR proof of 100,000 miles of tractor trailer driving experience
6. No DOT reportable accidents in the past 36 months (3 years)
7. No more than 2 moving violations in the past 36 months (3 years)
8. No drug or alcohol related driving offenses in the past 10 years
9. Must be willing to de! liver products inside of pizza stores which may require using a dolly/hand truck and working on your feet for long periods of time
10. Must be able to perform all physical and essential duties described in this job with or without reasonable accommodation
11. Other than for accommodation of religious/cultural beliefs or practices or medical disability, must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes 1 to 3 day routes with ability to be gone overnight (may include holidays, weekends, and off-shift hours.)
