The Senior Patient Care Coordinator plays a vital! role on the Swedish Medical Group patient care team, demonstrating the Swedish values of patient-centered care and service; respect, caring and compassion; teamwork and partnership; continuous learning and improvement; and leadership.
In this position you will:
Greet and prepare patients for the practitioner
Obtain and record vital signs and other appropriate information, such as height, weight, drug allergies, current medications and presenting problem
Inform patients of lab results, call in prescriptions to pharmacies and return practitioners phone messages as directed by practitioner
Document all interactions in patientâs medical record
Prepare, clean and sterilize instruments and maintain equipment; and keep patient exam rooms clean and orderly
Assist with scheduling surgeries and/or procedures or services needed in the ambulatory management of the patientâs care.
Perform common clinic screen! ing tests, such as, but not limited to, EKG, lab, X-Ray
Assist practitioner with diagnostic tests and clinical procedures.
Arrange for patient testing, referrals and/or hospital admission under direction of the provider.
Required
qualifications for this position include:
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Current or can obtain Washington State Certified Medical Assistant
Current CPR or BLS certification
Experience working in a clinic or patient care setting
Understanding of medical terminology and CPT/ICD9 coding
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to analyze and problem solve independently
Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
Demonstrated commitment to high quality customer service
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
1 year medical assisting experience in a clinic setting
Experience using EPIC
Previous experience performing surgical or procedure scheduling
