Summary


As part of MonkeySports’ Digital Content Team, you’ll become a member of our growing team whose employees are used to relying closely on one another to tackle tight deadlines and daily new challenges. You’ll be involved in projects directly & work with marketing professionals in every one of our functional areas. You’ll be encouraged to ask questions and learn as much as possible while you support our mission of bringing our technical expertise in sporting goods to our customers.


The MonkeySports marketing team is lean and agile, and in this role, you recognize the need to roll up your sleeves to identify opportunities to maximize our content for visits, conversions and increase our brand awareness and loyalty. It’s important for you to be an in-house subject matter expert - understanding our customers, products, and industry trends. This role requires collaboration across multiple departments, divisions, and service providers, with a team-oriented, highly communicative, and collaborative approach. An ideal candidate will need to be a highly motivated self-starter, able to develop objectives and manage a wide array of resources towards those objectives.


Essential Job Functions

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of all users and content that exists for our brands.
  • Ensure creation and delivery of accurate, effective content; collaborate with stakeholders for content approvals, manage editorial calendars, and turn business goals into content solutions.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of content generation including the research, production, and publication of blogs, newsletters, website landing pages, whitepapers, case studies, infographics, and videos. This will include writing and editing content in partnership with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to optimize content using data, industry best practices, and experimentation.
  • Research and stay up to date with news, trends, and opportunities in the sporting goods industry.
  • Develop and implement a branded social media strategy to increase brand awareness and engagement.
  • Using analytical tools such as Google Analytics, HubSpot, Sprout, Buffer, and Facebook Insights to monitor and evaluate the company’s social media presence and performance.
  • Exploring new ways to engage and identify new social networks to reach our target buyers.

Qualifications:


  • You are a subject matter expert in sporting goods, preferably in one of the sports we carry.
  • Associates Degree or equivalent number of units completed.
  • You’re able to demonstrate excellent skills as a writer with a knack for clear, concise, compelling communication of ideas.
  • You’re able to create editorial calendars, schedule and manage blog posts, and have a basis understanding of a CMS platform.
  • You are willing to conduct subject matter research, when necessary, on topics being requested.
  • You have experience in blog writing, email content, social media, video scripting, and website content.
  • You have a heightened attention to detail as an editor and proof-reader of your own work and of others.
  • You are technologically proficient with experience using WordPress or similar publishing tools, as well as an interest in social media.
  • You’re a creative self-starter, with a natural drive to solve problems and create value. You don’t wait for permission to get to work, and you’re motivated to improve.
  • A knowledge of SEO, keyword research, and content strategy is a huge plus!
  • Passion for content creation.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously, work independently, and drive projects to completion.
  • Exceptional analytical and communication skills with ability to operate with flexibility in a fast-paced, constantly evolving, and collaborative environment.


Work Environment


Working conditions are generally indoors except for special events. May be required to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs occasionally. Required to stand and walk majority of the shift.
