The Health Equity Project Manager II is responsible for providing project management support to the department's Manager who is responsible for department projects and processes. This position analytically identifies resources needed for each project and will work to define roles and responsibilities for these resources and to develop reports that include status updates on project deliverables and project issues. This position will develop reporting mechanisms that sufficiently allow each project team to rapidly assess the current state of their project in relation to timelines and deliverables. The Project Manger will work with Health Equity staff to track new regulatory requirements, identify current gaps within L.A. Care policies and procedures and facilitate in creating, and/or updating of relevant policies and procedures. The Project Manager will work with different operating units to ensure subject matter experts are available to the project teams to complete deliverables, when necessary.
Duties
Assists Manager implement the Health Equity and Disparities Mitigation plan and Member Health Equity work plan, including working with various stakeholders, researching and implementing new initiatives and projects, creating content, tracking and monitoring progress toward achievement and developing the communication strategy.
Tracks, preforms gap analysis, responds, creates/updates and implements policies and procedures required from L.A. Care regulators including Department of Health Care Services, National Committee for Quality Assurance, Covered California, and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Works with various stakeholders, and monitors progress toward policy implementation.
Manages stakeholders meetings including L.A. Care’s various equity councils for scheduling, agenda and content development and logistics.
Responsible for holding project work teams accountable for on-time delivery of assigned scope within baselined schedule, and costs/effort, including facilitation of meetings to move efforts forward
Writes and disseminates work plans and project documents as needed, including procedures, proposals, analyses, progress reports and presentations.
Assists in creating and disseminating health equity and disparities training and information to staff, providers and community.
Processes member/provider materials through appropriate channels to ensure compliance and regulatory requirements are met (Podio). Ensures compliance with contracted services and performance metrics.
Assists as needed with identifying opportunity establishing and managing partnerships with external organizations specifically to advance L.A. Care’s health equity and social determinants of health efforts.

A minimum of 3-5 years of experience of performing project management work, preferably in healthcare environment.
Experience with the planning, management and delivery of successful programs and projects.
