Description

UNIX System Administrator

This position requires in depth knowledge and experience in UNIX System Administration, with a primary focus on Solaris & Linux. Job responsibilities will include system builds (jumpstart/kickstart), network configuration, Volume Manager & File-system configuration, SAN masking and zoning, NetBackup client installation and configuration, serial console configuration (using Cyclades console servers), Operating system patches, and other general systems administration task as needed. The successful candidate will have strong skills in both shell and PERL scripting, strong knowledge in SAN administration including EMC (DMX, VMAX, & VNX) as well as storage networking with Cisco MDS series of SAN switches, as well as a through knowledge of hardware platforms including SPARC,& x86 (Cisco UCS platform would be a plus). The systems are key parts of the wireless infrastructure so knowledge of the wireless architecture (PCRF, DNS, OCG, MSP, MIND and numerous OSS/EMS systems) would be helpful but not required.

Integrates expert knowledge of technical principles/methods of multiple disciplines with knowledge of products/services and internal operations. Advisor on ATT technologies/systems/procedures.

Qualifications

7+ Years UNIX System Administration (Solaris, Linux)

EMC Storage Administration

Storage Networking (Cisco MDS)

Symantec Storage Foundation (VxVM, VxFS, VCS)

Shell Scripting

PERL Scripting

Jumpstart/Kickstart

DNS

Mail

Database (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.)

7 years of System Administration background in a large datacenter environment and programming experience
