As a member of Weyerhaeuser’s Corporate & Reporting Department, this individual will be part of a dynamic team of individuals in a fast-paced environment. They will gain experiences in multiple finance areas such as financial reporting, internal controls, general ledger account activities, and the monthly closing process. This role is a great opportunity to apply accounting theory and practice as well as develop critical thinking and ana! lytical skills.
Key Functions:
Successf! ul candidates will be expected to:
Perform financial closing activities including journal entries, analysis and reporting
Reconcile general ledger account balances
Analyze specific areas of the balance sheet or income statement
Assist with the preparation of the company’s SEC filings and government reports
Support audit requirements including internal, external and compliance audits
Prepare and present working papers and accurate supporting documentation
Participate in special projects and development opportunities
Perform other duties as assigned or requested
Qualifications
Requirements:
The successful candidate will have demonstrable skills and experiences including the following:
BA/BS degree in Accounting/Finance from an accredited college or university
CPA or strong desire to obtain CPA
Solid understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accountin! g Principles (GAAP)
Ability to analyze data and provide recommendations
Demonstrated ability to solve a variety of problems using sound reasoning to reach conclusions
Ability to multitask and work on several projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Results oriented and strives for continuous improvement
Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite with willingness to learn a variety of other software applications and tools
