Description:
We are looking for an inquisitive and detail-oriented Data Steward with a passion for assessing and improving data and information quality and to support our community-driven processes. This person must have the discipline to independently manage and be responsible for a queue of requests.
Responsibilities:
As a member of the data quality team, the Data Steward will:
- Respond to community-submitted requests to update data elements and to resolve disputed information.
- Research bus! iness and business contact information within our database, and using e! xternal resources via the Internet.
- Develop an intimate knowledge of our community-driven website (Jigsaw.com), and the realted data assets and technology processes, including scripting or database tools to perform bulk updates or manage community-submitted data.
- Work with Product and Engineering teams to suggest potential improvements for our customer, community, and stewardship workflows.
- Bachelors in Computer Science or Mathematics, or Management in Information Systems, or equivalent experience through work experience with references in data analysis or data stewardship
- Experience with data stewardship, governance, or analysis
- Working knowledge of MySQL database and Excel
- Understanding of information lifecycle and data quality concepts
- Effective communication skills to engage with development, support, and management teams as well as customers and community me! mbers
- Ability to present details of complex data quality or workflow issues for internal review
- Experience in creating or maintaining requirements documents, process flows, and decision trees
- Ability to work independently and to prioritize work based on customer or business value of the effort
- Individual or leadership experience in data quality assessment, cleansing, and improvement efforts
- D&B or other industry data provider content and processes
- Data profiling or cleansing tools
- Salesforce.com Sales Cloud and Force.com Platform
