Tacoma Power is seeking an experienced IRP Analyst to support development of Tacoma Power's Integrated Resource Plan through qualitative and quantitative economic, financial, and portfolio modeling and analysis.
Responsibilities include:
Portfolio Modeling: Collaboration in the development, management, and operation of deterministic and stochastic computer models that simulate Tacoma Power's resource portfolio under various future scenarios. Creating and formulating data sets that can be used as inputs to computer based models and analysis and interpretation of resulting outputs. Draftin! g recommendations based on modeling efforts and providing mean! ingful explanation of results to peers and management. Statistical and Econometric Modeling: Support Power Management Planning and Evaluation activities through advanced statistical and econometric modeling. Choose from and utilize a variety of mathematical and/or statistical techniques to formulate conclusions and solve practical problems. Key software packages include Excel, SAS, Crystal Ball, and MetrixND. Effective Communications : Develop, review and present ideas and analytical results to peers and senior management through memoranda, reports and PowerPoint presentations. Collaboration and Teamwork: Participate in the development and construction of resource planning scenarios affecting Tacoma Power. Logically integrate various ideas and information to formulate effective goals, objectives, timelines, and solutions. Project/Program Management: Effectively organize multiple assignments to produce work products that are accurate, thorough, and on time.
Quali! fications:
Minimum Qualifications
Equivalent combination to: Graduation from a college or university with a major in mathematics, economics, statistics or similarly related field. May substitute 4 years of experience performing similar responsibilities to meet minimum qualifications.
Desired Qualifications
Two years increasingly responsible experience with an electric utility in system design, operations, and planning.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Valid Washington State driver's license at time of appointment with maintenance thereafter.
