Manufacturing Test Engineer

Location: Redmond Washington

This position reports to the Production Manager and ensures that Kymeta products meet all specifications, that they comply with regulatory standards and that they can be m! anufactured at the lowest possible cost. Key day-to-day interaction with test engineering, quality and production personnel to address and resolve potential manufacturability issues, ensure the design and production team’s needs are satisfied and meet or exceed customer and shareholder expectations.

Responsibilities:
Work with manufacturing, QA and engineering to define and document test requirements and test methodologies, both for qualification and production purposes.

Analyze and design the sequence of tests and process flow to improve efficiencies in production facilities and equipment layouts; and establish methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel.

Act as the manufacturing liaison to the engineering development teams.

Perform qualification of test fixtures and test equipment to ensure test systems are capable of providing accurate and reliable test results.

Define and document calib! ration and maintenance requirements of all test fixtures and e! quipment.

Evaluation and procurement of fixtures and equipment with emphasis on cost justification and mistake-proofing.

Review and/or develop manufacturing test techniques/specifications including ICT, functional, and final test for PCBs; analog/digital circuits, and custom electrical components.

Develop manufacturing process flow diagrams, process characterizations, and process validation protocols/reports.

Coordinate with internal production to set-up test fixtures, methods, change orders and train manufacturing personnel.

Drive major manufacturing test projects from planning through tactical execution.

Skills:
Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings, and engineering documentation.

Working knowledge and experience using industry standard microwave signal generation and analysis equipment including spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes and other te! st equipment.

Experience using problem solving techniques and tools.

Strong attention to detail and following established procedures.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency in Windows, Excel, and MS Word are necessary.

Strong analytical, communication and interaction skills.

Ability to identify key internal processes and establish process control tools to track these processes and ensure they remain in control.

Job requirements

B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Three years’ experience as a test engineer.

Experience/understanding of PLD, PIC, Flash and EPROM programming.

Experience in a telecommunications manufacturing environment desirable.
