Providing excellent support to Whatcom County"s Victim/Witness Assistant Unit of the Prosecuting Attorney"s Office?
Working independently with minimal supervision in a h igh-volume, fast-paced environment?
Communicating the legal process and advocating for victims and/or witnesses of crimes?

If you answered yes to these questions, we hope to hear about your qualifications to fill this key role in the Prosecuting Attorney"s Office. The Victim Witness Coordinator II provides specialized tasks as a systems based advocate related to providing a variety of support services to victims and witnesses of all types of felony crimes in accordance with the Crime Victims Act of 1982. This position balances team and individual responsibilities with minimal supervision. Coordinates and participates in interviews of victims and witnesses; documents the reaction of the victim or witness, and the trauma and impact associated with the crime in order to prepare recommendations to aide the assigned attorney in determining the viability of prosecution.

Supervisor: Administrative Manager Qualifications: A Bachelor"s degree in Criminal Justice or a closely related field AND 2 years of progressively responsible experience as a criminal justice system based advocate. Must be able to type accurately and proficiently with a speed of 60 net words per minute.
Must have a background check that meets County criteria and CJIS security.
Required to complete advocacy certification at the next available Washington State Victim Assistance Academy after hiring, if certification has not already been attained provided funding is available.
Required to become a member of the local collective bargaining unit. Salary:
Master Collective Bargaining Agreement
Range 150.0
2018 Salary Range: $24.06 - $34.57 per hour
