POSITION PURPOSE
Manage all aspects of the care and cleaning of guest and employee laundry, dry cleaning and linen. You will be responsible for the efficient running of the department in line with the strategies and brand standards of the hotel, whilst meeting employee, guest and owner expectations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent required; previous Hotel laundry experience preferred.
- Must possess developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be proficient in general computer knowledge especially Microsoft Office products
- Must be able to work independently and simultaneously manage multiple tasks; strong organization and presentation skills
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise, select, train, coach, and counsel staff. Maintain Aimbridge policies and procedures. Schedule staff in accordance to occupancy demands.
- Manage the administrative functions of the laundry department. Process paperwork accurately and in a timely manner, conduct and oversee inventory of linen, comply production information for reporting purposes, and perform forecasting and department budget on a monthly and annual basis.
- Assures the financial goals of the department are met. Monitors and controls labor expenses and other divisional expenses such as supply and maintenance cost. Coordinates periodic Linen, Uniform and Supplies inventory. Recommends appropriate actions passed on results of inventory.
- Oversee the quality of product produced, ensuring that all equipment is in good, working order and that the department is operating in accordance to OSHA and state safety regulations. Report malfunctioning equipment immediately for prompt repair.
- Coordinate maintenance and repair of equipment with Engineering Department.
- Ability to adapt and react to emergency linen and/or uniform needs.
- Formulating washing formula for stained loads.
- Conduct regular department meetings with staff to inform them of pertinent information, such as safety in the workplace, hotel events, retraining, and guest/occupancy.
- Resolves customer complaints, handling all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special request whenever possible.
