GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Attorney is responsible for providing legal assistance to the Assistant General Counsels and Senior Vice President/General Counsel in the development and implementation of (i) risk management, claims management and self-insured retention programs and (ii) health care transactions and regulatory compliance at MultiCare Health System. This position assists in the development, implementation, and direction of the clinical and custodial risk management program (“Programâ€) that exceeds legal and accreditation requirements, using techniques of automated incident/quality assurance reporting, risk identification, and loss prevention to reduce the frequency and severity of events that may result in financial loss and enhance the quality of care provided. Additionally, this position supports transactions across the organization and manages regulatory issues with Assistant General Counsel, the Vice P! resident/General Counsel and MultiCare leadership. Contacts in! clude: administrative staff, nursing staff, medical staff, other employees, outside attorneys, consultants, vendors, patients, and others as needed.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
â€" Licensed to practice law in the state of Washington
â€" Generally, 2 years experience in litigation (preferably medical malpractice) with at least 1 year of experience in claims management, risk management, quality assurance and/or liability insurance; or, health care transactions and/or regulatory issues in an in-house or law firm environment; or possesses a clinical background
