HMC Quality Improvement has an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Computer Analyst . T! his individual will be responsible for supporting database pro! gramming and information technology (IT) needs of HMC Quality Improvement (QI) Department. The Senior Computer Analyst will work with faculty and staff in the QI department, within Harborview Medical Center (HMC) and UW Medicine as needed. Develop tools and reports related to operational and QI work in support of quality and safety. Serve as a key partner for QI analytic functions and be part of a dynamic and integrated team.
Work with clients to assist in identifying needs. Coordinate data gathering and dissemination in a user friendly format.
Support retrospective and real-time electronic data collection from electronic health records, Caradigm (Amalga) database and other data sources. Provide data analysis and data distribution for selected QI and patient safety initiatives. These reports results will be used by frontline healthcare providers, QI staff and faculty and administrators to improve the quality of patient care.
REQUIREMENTS:
Team player with a successful track record of working with dynamic, integrated teams.
Experience with Advanced SQL query programming.
Experience with application programming languages (eg. C++, C#, Visual Basic, Java).
Strong troubleshooting skills in working with complex data structures.
Experience working with reporting tools such as SSRS.
Ability to coordinate information gathering and dissemination within a complex administrative system.
Demonstrated skills in written and verbal communication.
Highly self-directed and creative with strong customer satisfaction approach with the ability to assist in the translation of clinical needs into programming.
An equivalent combination of education ! and experience may substitute for stated requirements.
DESI! RED:
Experience with Web-based programming languages (eg. PERL, PHP). Experience with SQL Server, SSIS and SSRS. Experience working in a medical environment and working with physicians and health care professionals.
