Working with Business Development Managers (BDM), Business Development Solutions Engineer (BDSE) is responsible for the technical development of our Enterpris! e Software partnership with IBM Software. The BDSE will assist in the recruitment and development of new solutions within the F5/IBM Software partnership through product demonstrations, technical presentations, and on-site product installation, training, and support. Moderate national and international travel required.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
§ Responsible for upholding F5’s Business Code of Ethics and for promptly reporting violations of the Code or other company policies.
§ Assist BDM’s in qualifying prospective partnership opportunities, and conducting product demonstrations and technical presentations remotely or at partner locations/F5 facilities.
§ Work directly with Partner on Solution development and assist them with their lab installation and configuration of F5 products. This would include installation, and customization or upgrades of both hardware and software.
§ Work with BDM and Partner to develop and review of joint s! olution technical documentations.
§ Produce sales pull th! rough partnerships by effectively positioning F5 Solutions and their benefits to the partners and by supporting partnerships at events and shows.
§ Supporting Partner activities in the Solution or Demonstration Labs with some direct customer interaction.
§ Provide subject matter expertise about partner applications to Sales, Product Management, Support and Technology Center.
§ F5 Technology/Solution Center support which may entail taking on specific projects when the core team is over-loaded.
§ Perform other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
§ Requires an in-depth knowledge of enterprise and n-tier applications and architectures.
§ Strong knowledge and experience with Web and Application Server administration and adv. system configuration, including one or more of the following servers IBM WebSphere, Oracle WebLogic, Apache, or Microsoft IIS with ASP.
§ Some experience with systems like Oracle 11i! , Siebel 7, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, Microsoft Commerce Server, and SAPLotus Notes, Lotus Sametime, Maximo, Tivoli Access Manager, and WebSphere DataPower. Knowledge should include Identity management, authorization and authentication systems, HTTP, TCP/IP,SSL, LDAP, Active Directory, and DNS protocols.
§ Strong Linux and Windows Server O/S knowledge is required.
§ Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, with ability to articulate complex technology simply.
§ Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and solve technical problems.
§ Self-motivated and flexible.
§ Knowledge of security systems, VPN, Firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, switches, routers, NAS/SAN, and WAN Optimization technologies a plus.
QUALIFICATIONS:
§ BS/BA or equivalent work experience
§ 5+ years’ experience supporting technical sales and/or partners-led sales of enterprise applications and infrastructure solutions to corporate accounts
PHYSICAL DEMANDS! AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
§ Duties are performed in on-site at a ! customer facility or data center, or in a normal office environment sitting at a desk or computer table.
§ Duties require the ability to utilize a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material.
§ Job may be performed on-site at a customer facility or data center, or in an office environment sitting at a desk or computer table.
§ Duties require the ability to travel up to 50% ( National and occasional International travel) via automobile and airplane, and may require being on call periodically and working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends).
§ Job requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
