Project Specialist - Administrative [United States]


 

The Laboratory of Neuro Imaging has been at the forefront of neuroimaging research for over three decades and maintains a large data repository utilized for many national and international research collaborations. Our team is dedicated to making a difference through improving access to neuroscience research data. We are looking for a full time Project Specialist with experience maintaining database records and providing support to internal and external investigators. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team and will excel at helping to develop new methods for improving workflow and data collection/data management activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist with ensuring regulatory compliance in procedures and practices
  • Help maintain specialized research databases, systems and related records

    Coordinate collection of project-related information
  • Coordinate and implement data collection instruments in electronic data capture system
  • Write clear and logical instructions and documentation
  • Perform data quality control using statistical and other means
  • Provide instruction and/or training on data collection and data management procedures including best practices for data coding, management and sharing
  • Use custom tools (provided) to upload and download large comma-delimited datasets
  • Perform basic database queries using SQL to evaluate data for accuracy and completeness
  • Provide excellent customer service and troubleshooting assistance to users uploading or downloading data from the repository
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of data collection and quality control activities

Ability to find logical relationships between data tables or data files

Ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written form

Ability to create presentations and use presentation software
Ability to evaluate and identify data conversion, quality or validity issues

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively on multiple projects

Basic knowedge of SQL is a plus

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's degree is required

Experience: Two (2) years experience assisting with project management (organization, scheduling and implementing project activities) and performing data collection/coordination/quality control (experience with relational database systems a plus)

The hourly rate range for this position is $29.17 - $37.19.
