MOOG Aircraft Group is looking for an Assembly & Test Apprentice. The apprentice will not just learn skills that support assembly and test of Moog hardware, but will also gain an understanding of the big picture – how the apprentice's actions impact all operations as it pertains to quality, delivery, and cost.

Our apprentice program is unique in that modules are challenging and chosen purposefully to provide hands on experience, light-years beyond what you will see in the classroom. We offer a friendly and comfortable work environment, where innovation and creativity are encouraged. The Apprenticeship Program is located at our aerospace manufacturing plant in Torrance, CA.

Minimum Requirements Include:

• Enrolled in Spartan College in Los Angeles for Airframe and Powerplant Diploma, have at least 10 months remaining in the program, and have completed General Education courses (GN101-GN103).

• Must pass an initial FAA Drug Screen and be enrolled in random drug and alcohol testing pool.

• Ability to work 24 hours per week on 1st shift (any time between 6:00AM and 4:00PM) on a continuing basis for 1 year. Hours may be 6 hours/ 4 days per week or 8 hours / 3 days per week.

• This position requires access to US Export Controlled Information.

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent

Program Highlights

• Paid internship with salary range of $22 per hour.

• Rotate through 6 work cells for 2 months each.

• Work on both Military and Commercial flight actuation product, including repair and overhaul.

• Learn various on the job skills such as safety/lock wire, touch up paint, nameplate engraving, soldering, torque, Heli coil and seal installation, tear down, assembly, test.

Upon successful completion of the 1-year Apprenticeship program, the apprentice will be converted into a full-time role as an Assembly & Test Technician. Final placement work cell and area will be based upon business needs.

California Residents: Pay range for this opportunity is $22 per hour.
