Key Functions:
Pro! vide input on their market analysis and guidance to the business
Complete supporting analysis of commodity product line performance including Inventory turns, margin generation and future market direction
Coordination across geographies when product line is split (plywood)
Support supplier identification, management and performance review efforts of National Product Managers
Provide senior relationship linkage to our core commodity vendors (internal & external)
Coordinate National Product Manager reporting needs
Facilitate and implement block buys on behalf of Sales Regions
In addition, this role will provide support, direction and leadership for the Division General Managers in coaching Area General Managers & Product Sales Reps on commodity activity.
Functions will include:
Partner with National Product Manager on comparing local performance to division and national trends
Identify! areas of high performance for recognition and low performance! for improvement
Partner with National Product Managers to provide commodity coaching to Area General Managers and Product Sales Reps as requested including competitive analysis
Suggest/Provide Area commodity performance targets as requested by the Division General Manager
This role will provide communication and coordination as follows for the Distribution Business Lead Team:
Act as communication conduit between Lead Team and National Product Managers
Coordination with National Accounts, National Product Managers, Division General Managers and Area General Managers on potential large regional or national account commodity proposals
Coordinate Lead Team and National Account commodity reporting needs
Potential focal point for commodity futures activity, hedging & other risk management activity
Potential focal point for commodity buy/sell training activities

Qualifications
Requirements:
Bachelors degree or higher in business, economics or math
Demonstrated negotiation and decision making skills
Strong analytic skills and ability to calculate and model the financial impacts of decisions
Sound skills in developing alternatives and solutions
Excellent teamwork and communication skills with strong ability to influence decision makers
